RentalCue Terms of Use and License Terms

These Terms of Use and License Terms (“Terms”) govern your purchase and use of RentalCue.

By purchasing, activating, or using RentalCue, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not purchase or use RentalCue.

1. About RentalCue

RentalCue is browser-based software designed for small party and event equipment rental businesses.

RentalCue provides tools for managing information such as:

  • inventory;
  • customers;
  • bookings;
  • availability;
  • rental status;
  • calendar information;
  • backups and data exports.

RentalCue is provided as a software product and is not a managed rental service, accounting service, payment processor, or legal or financial advisory service.

2. Purchase and Pricing

RentalCue is sold for a one-time purchase price of USD $19, unless a different price is clearly displayed at the time of purchase.

RentalCue is not a subscription product.

Applicable taxes may be added where required.

Your purchase grants you a license to use RentalCue under these Terms. It does not transfer ownership of RentalCue or its underlying software, source code, branding, or intellectual property.

3. License Grant

After successful payment and license issuance, you are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use RentalCue for your own business operations.

The license is subject to these Terms and remains valid unless suspended or terminated in accordance with these Terms or applicable law.

4. Device Limit

A RentalCue license may be activated on up to three active devices.

You must not intentionally bypass or interfere with the device activation limit.

If you replace or lose access to a device, activation availability may depend on RentalCue's device management and support procedures.

5. Local Browser Storage

RentalCue is designed so that ordinary business data entered into the application, including inventory, customer, and booking information, is primarily stored locally in your web browser.

This means that your business data may not automatically follow you to another device or browser.

You are responsible for understanding that local browser data may be lost if, for example:

  • browser storage is cleared;
  • the browser is reset;
  • the device is lost, damaged, or replaced;
  • the operating system is reinstalled;
  • private or temporary browser modes are used;
  • browser or device failure occurs.

6. Backups

RentalCue includes backup and export functionality.

You are responsible for creating and retaining backups of your business data at intervals appropriate for your operations.

RentalCue does not currently provide automatic cloud backup of your ordinary inventory, customer, or booking records.

Failure to maintain backups may result in permanent data loss.

7. Acceptable Use

You may use RentalCue for lawful business purposes.

You must not:

  • use RentalCue for unlawful, fraudulent, or abusive activities;
  • attempt to bypass license or device restrictions;
  • intentionally interfere with RentalCue's licensing or security mechanisms;
  • use another person's license without authorization;
  • distribute license credentials publicly;
  • use RentalCue in a way that materially interferes with the service or infrastructure used to provide licensing or activation;
  • attempt unauthorized access to RentalCue systems, databases, or infrastructure.

Nothing in this section prohibits activities that cannot lawfully be restricted under applicable law.

8. License Sharing and Resale

Your RentalCue license is provided for your own authorized use.

You may not:

  • sell or resell the license;
  • transfer the license to another unrelated person or business without authorization;
  • rent, sublicense, or commercially redistribute the license;
  • publicly share license credentials.

Use by authorized personnel within the same business may be permitted where it remains within the applicable device limit and does not amount to redistribution or resale.

9. Intellectual Property

RentalCue, including its software, interface, branding, documentation, and related materials, is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

Except for the limited license granted under these Terms, no ownership rights are transferred to you.

You retain ownership of the business data that you enter into RentalCue.

10. Refunds

Purchases are subject to the RentalCue Refund Policy.

In general, because RentalCue is delivered digitally, purchases are non-refundable once a valid license has been issued and the software is accessible.

Refunds may be considered in cases such as:

  • duplicate charges;
  • failure to issue or activate a valid license;
  • a verified technical problem that prevents RentalCue from being used and cannot reasonably be resolved.

Nothing in these Terms limits refund or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded under applicable law.

11. Updates and Changes

RentalCue may be updated from time to time to:

  • fix bugs;
  • improve usability;
  • maintain compatibility;
  • address security issues;
  • improve existing features.

Features may also be adjusted where reasonably necessary for technical, security, legal, or operational reasons.

We will not intentionally represent unavailable features as part of the product.

Where a material change significantly affects the purchased product, we will take reasonable steps to communicate it where appropriate.

12. Availability

We aim to keep RentalCue and its licensing infrastructure reasonably available.

However, uninterrupted or error-free operation cannot be guaranteed.

Temporary interruptions may occur because of:

  • maintenance;
  • hosting or network failures;
  • third-party service outages;
  • browser or device issues;
  • security incidents;
  • circumstances outside reasonable control.

Locally stored RentalCue business data may remain available independently of some online services, but license verification or activation may require internet access.

13. Warranty Disclaimer

RentalCue is provided as a general-purpose business software tool.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, RentalCue is provided without guarantees that it will meet every business requirement or be completely free from errors or interruptions.

You are responsible for determining whether RentalCue is appropriate for your business and workflow.

Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or statutory rights that cannot legally be excluded.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, RentalCue and its operator will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising from the use or inability to use RentalCue.

This may include, where legally permitted:

  • loss of locally stored data;
  • loss caused by failure to maintain backups;
  • lost profits;
  • lost business opportunities;
  • operational interruption.

Where liability cannot legally be excluded, any limitation will apply only to the extent permitted by applicable law.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability where such limitation is prohibited by law.

15. Suspension or Termination of a License

A license may be suspended or disabled where reasonably necessary if:

  • the purchase is refunded;
  • the payment is reversed or disputed;
  • the license is found to have been fraudulently obtained;
  • the license is being intentionally shared, resold, or abused in violation of these Terms;
  • unauthorized attempts are made to bypass licensing or security mechanisms;
  • suspension is required by law.

Where reasonably possible and appropriate, we may provide notice or an opportunity to resolve the issue before permanent termination.

A license will not be suspended solely because a legitimate user experiences a technical problem.

16. Payment Disputes and Chargebacks

If a payment is reversed, refunded, or subject to a chargeback or payment dispute, the associated RentalCue license may be suspended or disabled.

If you believe a license has been disabled incorrectly, contact RentalCue support.

17. Privacy

Use of RentalCue is also subject to the RentalCue Privacy Policy.

The Privacy Policy explains how purchase information, license information, device activation information, support communications, and technical information may be processed.

Ordinary inventory, customer, and booking data entered into RentalCue is primarily stored locally in your browser as described in the Privacy Policy.

18. Third-Party Services

RentalCue currently relies on third-party services including:

  • Stripe for payment processing;
  • Cloudflare for hosting, infrastructure, security, and database services;
  • Resend for transactional email delivery.

These services are subject to their own terms, availability, and privacy practices.

RentalCue is not responsible for failures caused solely by third-party services beyond reasonable control, except where applicable law provides otherwise.

19. Changes to These Terms

These Terms may be updated when RentalCue, applicable law, or our service model changes.

The current version will be published on the RentalCue website with the applicable effective date.

Changes will not retroactively remove rights that cannot legally be removed.

Where a material change requires notice or consent under applicable law, the appropriate process will be followed.

20. Governing Law

These Terms are intended to be governed by the laws of Japan, unless applicable consumer or other mandatory law requires otherwise.

Nothing in these Terms prevents a customer from exercising rights or remedies that cannot legally be waived under the laws applicable to them.

Any jurisdiction or dispute-resolution provision added in the future should be interpreted subject to mandatory consumer-protection rules.
